Co-founder Chris Shi states that, "We designed Photons with active gaming and fitness in mind. So many AR devices out there bulky helmets made for the workplace, while the lighterweight devices don't pack enough computing power or control modes to play interesting games. Photons are unique in that the glasses and controlelrs are extremely light, and the device has highly responsive controllers and enough control modes that you can do sophisticated gaming." The company plans to focus on activing gaming that take advantages of its 6DoF controllers such as boxing, tennis, yoga, ping-pong, and other activities that feature extensive upper body motion. CEO Patrick Liu offered that, "Photons will be the most exciting AR device on the market soon, and we hope that our product's launch on Kickstarter will allow people the opportunity to get fit and have fun from home while also promoting the adoption of Augmented Reality among consumers around the world.
